Classical Music… Lands on the Couch!

20 octobre 2025

A breakfast concert for little ears

On Sunday, October 19th, Calia Italia Headquarter in Matera welcomed the concert-show Pulcinella to the Beat of Stravinsky, part of the “La Classica Colazione” series.
This special event, thoughtfully created for children aged 3 to 6, brought together over a hundred young listeners and their parents for an immersive and unexpected cultural experience.

Sofas as Havens of Sound

Backed by Calia Cultura, a cultural initiative born in 1990 to foster art, social engagement, and collective growth, this project invites audiences into an immersive and accessible musical experience set in an unexpected venue: the company showroom.
Here, sofas become welcoming havens for listening and connection, inviting families to sit back, relax, and share the magic of music together.

A Journey Through Music and Theatre — Designed for Young Imaginations

Guiding our youngest audience members was Pulcinella, a playful character who led children on a magical journey through music and theatre, set to the vibrant notes of Igor Stravinsky.
The experience was curated by the theatre company L’Albero, in collaboration with Matè and Solisti Lucani – a collective of talented artists under 35 – who together conceived the project Prime Volte.
This initiative aims to bring classical music to life for a rarely considered audience: children aged 0 to 6 and their families, especially parents in their 30s and 40s.
Through a rich blend of sensory stimuli – sound, visuals, storytelling, and theatrical elements including masks, puppetry, spoken word, objects, and imagery – Prime Volte transforms classical music into a world of wonder, discovery, and shared emotion.

An Emotional, Shared Experience

At the end of the performance, children and parents gathered with organizers, actors, and musicians for a delicious breakfast, turning the morning into a moment of warmth and connection.
The enthusiastic participation of both young and grown-up guests made the event even more special, showing how art and togetherness can bridge generations and bring people closer.

A Three-Part Musical Journey

The journey began on October 12th with a Beatles-inspired concert at Ecoverticale, designed for children aged 6 and up. Just a week later, on October 19th, Calia Italia opened its doors to the whimsical world of Stravinsky, welcoming little ones into a playful blend of music and theatre. The final chapter will unfold on November 9th at Hotel del Campo, where even the tiniest listeners—from 0 to 3 years old—will be gently introduced to the magic of Mozart.

Culture to Experience. Together.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who filled our showroom with laughter, wonder, and a joyful spirit of participation.
For one special morning, classical music stepped out of the concert hall and into our everyday spaces, among sofas, cushions, and curious eyes.

We are constantly dreaming up new ways to experience culture together, in unexpected places and through fresh, surprising perspectives.
So stay connected: the next story might just begin from… the comfort of a sofa.
